Brickell

Brickell Miami

The second largest global banking district in the United States, the Brickell neighborhood is Miami’s financial district, sometimes dubbed the “Wall Street of Florida.” But it’s so much more than that. This densely packed area offers luxury residences and incredible daily conveniences in a cosmopolitan setting that appeals to international residents.

Brickell is found just south of the historic Central Business District of Downtown Miami. Coconut Grove lies at the far southern end of the neighborhood, with The Roads and Little Havana/Riverside located to the west.

In the early 20th century, Brickell was Miami’s “Millionaire’s Row.” Mary and William Brickell originally built lavish mansions there, which eventually gave way over time to modern high rises and stunning glass towers along the edge of Biscayne Bay.

Several private schools are located in Brickell, as is the downtown campus of Florida International University and the Miami Main Library.

Sophisticated Living in the Sky and on the Water

Skyline living is a prime attraction in Brickell, where you’ll find numerous upscale condominiums and apartment towers, including landmark Miami skyscrapers. This neighborhood is favored by celebrities, bankers, and those associated with the many foreign consulates in Brickell.

On the northeastern side of Brickell is Brickell Key, also known as Claughton Island. This gated island features more luxury residential and hotel properties with amazing vistas from the upper floors.

Brickell boasts waterfront homes as well. Many of these have private docks and swimming pools. Historic single-family homes south of Broadway give a glimpse into Brickell’s sumptuous past.

Amenities Within Easy Reach

As well as a fast commute to Downtown, Brickell affords residents everything they could want within easy reach of their doorsteps, and the community was designed to provide a complete lifestyle for its inhabitants. Mary Brickell Village, a French-style center with boutiques, services, and specialty shops, is at the heart of the neighborhood.

The Perez Art Museum, Wynwood Arts District, and Gusman Center for the Performing Arts offer cultural experiences throughout the year just outside the Brickell neighborhood, so close that Brickell residents can handily avail themselves of these events. Brickell City Centre contains three levels of open-air retail space, fine dining, and entertainment, as well as two condominium towers. Be sure to check out the Climate Ribbon there, a sculptural canopy of steel and glass that stretches for three blocks and provides shade and cooling to City Centre visitors.

If you crave a chic urban atmosphere that’s pedestrian-friendly with both cityscape and water views, Brickell should definitely be at the top of your list.
